God's Instructions for an Abundant Life
God has placed every Christian in a unique field that is subject to the laws of planting, cultivating, and harvesting. He expects us to bear fruit and promises a bountiful harvest if we follow His timeless principles.
The Third Step – Becoming a Farmer
In 2 Timothy 2, Paul brought up four perspectives to illustrate the victorious Christian life.
Here is an excerpt of the third of these perspectives: The Farmer
In 2 Timothy 2:6, Paul said, “The hardworking farmer should be the first to eat from his own crops.”
Farming is mentioned often in the Bible, most likely because it’s what most people did when it was written. Many deep principles of wisd0m are found in this way of life. In this verse, Paul hints at another of God’s promises: our life is not supposed to be all sacrifice and suffering here on earth while we patiently wait for the rewards and joys of the next life. There are rewards to be realized and blessings to be enjoyed here and now.
Let’s go to the very beginning. Farming starts with Adam.
